Ride: Farmington to Ogden

Details

This is a one-way spin from Farmington to Ogden, then returning on UTA’s FrontRunner train. Our itinerary is to roll north on the paved Denver & Rio Grande Western Rail Trail to Ogden, have lunch at Rooster’s, and then return on the train. Plan on a 24-mile ride with approximately 5-miles on public roads in traffic. The terrain is easy flat to rolling with one short climb as we approach Ogden. Anyone preferring to ride back doubling their mileage is welcome to do so. The main downside to this course is that the D & RGW Rail Trail has numerous gates at cross streets, with some having curbs. While in Ogden we’ll visit Fort Buenaventura, a fun historic site which pre-dates Ogden. Meet Elliott at the Farmington UTA Station at 9:00AM ready to ride. Bike locks are recommended for our stop at Roosters. Bring money for the train ticket (or UTA pass) and for lunch in Ogden. Please ensure your bike is correctly adjusted and safe to operate. Everyone needs to bring basic tire repair tools and wear a helmet. No earbuds.

Trailhead Information. Meet in Farmington at Farmington Station in the parking lot located adjacent to UTA’s FrontRunner station. This parking lot is located on the south side of Park Lane and on the northeast corner of Farmington Station.
