Hike to See the Bluebells on the VF River Trail
Hosted by Della
Sunday, April 12 at 12:00 PM
Join Wanderbug member Della for a relaxed spring hike along the beautiful Valley Forge River Trail in search of one of nature’s loveliest little surprises, the bluebells. These delicate flowers usually bloom in mid April, so with a little luck the trail should be lined with them when we visit.
This will be a flat out and back hike of about 4 miles on a dirt trail. The terrain is generally easy, though there may be some roots and rocks along the way. We may also spot turtles sunning themselves along the river if the weather cooperates.
Please wear appropriate footwear such as athletic sneakers, walking shoes, or hiking shoes. It is also a good idea to bring water and sunscreen.
We will meet near the bathrooms at the Betzwood Trailhead parking lot.
The Betzwood Trailhead parking lot at Valley Forge National Historical Park does not have a specific street address, but you can navigate to S. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403 (near the 422 exit). I was able to put Betzwood Trailhead parking lot into my GPS (Waze and Google Maps) and it provided easy directions.
If you need to reach Della the day of the hike, you can call or text her at 484 557 5914. Please register or cancel through the Meetup event page so the attendance list stays accurate.
Enjoy a peaceful spring walk and hopefully a trail full of blooming bluebells.
