Esterson Hall Adventuring Guild (Nimble RPG)
Details
The Kingdom of Ardentry, during the start of its founding, had 1,000 years of peace and harmony, led by the hand from their cael (a type of angel in the setting) helpers and the Church of the Reverie. Soon the Shattered Age would erupt with vicians (a type of demon in the setting) and their corrupt followers, the Cult of Maledict, trying to conquer the kingdom in a surprise attack! After intense fighting, the demons were pushed back to the wests, now called the Western Wastes. Now, the six provinces try their best to stay as a cohesive unit as the scars from that war still linger.
Enter Esterson Hall. Your guildmasters, Remus Starner and Welma Reedacre, are seeking adventurers to go around and help solve the many problems within the Kingdom. Whether it be putting a stop to the rise of aspiring Cult of Maledict champions, defeating an orc warband, thwarting an inferiin scheme, helping scholars from Haliah do research, or even fight the cursed Bloodtide Pirates, well... that's where you come in.
Because if the only Kingdom falls, then... caels save us all.
Expectations
This is a "guild episodic" campaign/West Marches-like? It's an easy setup where we begin the session with the task the party wishes to pursue, get debriefed on what the problem is about, then proceed to adventuring, win the day, and have the resolution. So it's easy to pop in and out whether you want a dedicated group or simply looking to play a session for a day. Preferably, I'd love a regular group.
- Rating. I'm a PG-13 at worst type of GM. I get queasy with crude imagery or violent details.
- Starting Level. We will have a level 1 character to start off the campaign. We will level up every 2-3 sessions depending on how thick some are. We can start off with a session 0 if needed or preferred.
- Game Time. Saturdays! The chosen time slot will be based on what players prefer, note that Game Haven closes at 10 PM!
- Experience. I'm fine to teach you Nimble and bring you along. It's a newer RPG from last year so I'm happy to provide what I can.
System and Setting
- Takes place in the homebrew world, Faunerro
- Preferably uses the Nimble TTRPG system. If you're familiar with 5E D&D, Nimble is a more fluid and tactical version with its 3-action system it offers along with streamlined class feats.
About the Game Master
Eight years of GM experience and counting! I'm a "story over gory" GM as I've put it. A theater kid in denial. Statistically, the most likely thing to kill you in my games are your fellow players. I enjoy the "easy mode" experience as I prefer providing a casual atmosphere than stressing players. Love voice acting, a bit of theatrics, and immersion. I'm the type of GM who would rather players be able to walk away from a session happily listing off all the cool things they did!
I'm itching to run Nimble as, from what play testing I've done with my main group, it has proven to be a fun system and hopefully, I can show you too.
(Note, I, the poster of the event, Don, am not the GM.)
