## Featuring Minding the Gap A gentle evening of creativity, connection, and shared reflection
Join us on Zoom for a supportive, low‑pressure movie night designed specifically for trauma survivors. We’ll watch Minding the Gap together while crafting, take two intentional pause breaks for grounding and discussion, and close with a debrief to explore themes that felt meaningful or impactful.
### Content & Trigger Warnings
Minding the Gap includes real‑life experiences and themes that may be activating for some viewers. These may include:
- Childhood trauma and family violence
- Emotional abuse and interpersonal conflict
- Substance use and coping through risky behaviors
- Depression, hopelessness, and emotional withdrawal
- Discussions of systemic barriers, poverty, and instability
- Real stories of harm, resilience, and complicated relationships
You are encouraged to care for yourself in whatever ways feel right throughout the event. Stepping away, muting, turning your camera off, crafting without watching, or leaving early are all welcome choices. You never need to explain your boundaries.
### What to Expect
- Craft‑Along Viewing: Bring any craft you enjoy—drawing, knitting, painting, collage, beadwork, or something simple and soothing. Hands‑on creativity can make the viewing experience feel more grounded and manageable.
- Two Supportive Pause Points: We’ll pause the movie twice to check in, offer grounding time, and discuss any themes or moments that stood out. Sharing is always optional.
- End‑of‑Movie Debrief: After the film, we’ll spend time reflecting together. Participants can share thoughts, emotions, or insights about the movie, or simply listen.
- Optional Craft Sharing: You’re welcome to show your finished or in‑progress craft pieces at the end. This is a celebration of creativity, not perfection.
### Tone & Safety
This space is designed to be calm, validating, and choice‑centered. You’re welcome exactly as you are. Participation is flexible, and your comfort is the priority throughout the night.
