Fahnestock: Catfish Loop to Chimney Top

You are invited to join us for an 8-mile hike with about 1200 feet elevation gain. This hike will take about 5 hours, depending on trail conditions.
We will meet at the Dennytown AT trailhead parking, 295 (approx. #) Dennytown Rd, Putnam Valley, NY 10579. GPS: 41.42044, -73.86898 at 8:45 for a prompt 9:00 AM start.
We will start on the Catfish Loop for about 4 miles. We will pick up the yellow connector trail to the Chimney Top trail. We'll retrace our steps to the yellow connector to the AT. Here we will return to the cars hiking on the AT north.
Trail Map: NYNJ Trail Conference East Hudson Trails # 103 or digital map of your choice.

Bring appropriate gear including a light/headlamp, micro-spikes, snowshoes, food, and water. Review/bring your map to be aware of topography and our location.
Check the weather and dress appropriately.
Weather: Heavy rain/snow/sleet/extreme cold or high winds cancels.
If Unable to Attend: Please cancel at least 48 hours prior to the event, so people on the waitlist can attend. If on the day of the event, you cannot make it, please take your name off the going list. Not attending hikers will be marked as “No-Show.” People with multiple “No-Show” will not be allowed on future hikes. Thanks....
