Prayer, Protection, and Healing: Domestic Violence Awareness
Details
Join us for Shalom & Safe Space: A Biblical Conversation on Abuse, Healing, and Hope on Thursday, October 23 as we observe Domestic Violence Awareness Day. One in three Christian couples experience abuse, and this evening will offer faith, healing, and hope through God’s Word. Barry Roberts will teach and share his testimony, with additional reflections from Elizabeth Stein, Frances Farr, and John Sutton. We’ll explore scriptures about love, truth, and safety, including “Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them” (Col. 3:19) and “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted” (Ps. 34:18). Worship begins at 7:10 PM, followed by teaching and sharing from 7:15–8:15 PM, closing with “Reckless Love,” prayer, and dessert—chocolate birthday cake for Dawn Force. Arrive by 5:55 PM; we’ll pray and eat at 6:15 PM. Frances and John will provide Safe Harbor Stir Fry Beef, Broccoli & Zucchini Spirals. Bring a salad, side, or 7.5-ounce drink to share. Wear purple in support of survivors. This meeting will remain confidential. Text John (719-351-7913) or Frances (541-219-2713) for the address and gate code.
