Summer has finally arrived — let’s walk together.

Join us this Saturday, 27 December, for one of Auckland’s most beautiful urban walking adventures, perfect for sharing quality outdoor time, gentle movement, and good conversation.

🌞 Ōrākei Basin & Kepa Bush Urban Walk

This scenic 7km loop blends wetlands, bush, basin views, and urban pathways — a real Auckland gem.

Expect:
Ever-changing scenery
Peaceful wetlands (no wet shoes!)
Native birds, lush greenery, and city views

A relaxed pace — ideal for leisurely walkers, photographers, and curious minds

Plenty of stops to rest, chat, and learn about trees, birds, plants, and early local history

Winter is behind us, summer is here, and Christmas is in the air — the perfect time to reconnect outdoors.

📍 Event Details

Route: Ōrākei Basin Walkway, Kepa Bush Reserve & urban paths
Distance: Approx. 7km loop
Meet & Greet: 10:00am, Saturday 27 December
Finish: Around 2:30pm

Meeting Point: Ōrākei Green Reserve, opposite 206 Upland Road, Remuera

🚶‍♂️ Difficulty
Easy to moderate
A few short steeper sections (about 5 minutes of light huffing and puffing).

If you’re reasonably active, you’ll be just fine.

This is not a fast-paced walk and not suitable for anyone in a hurry.

🎒 What to Bring
Good grippy walking shoes
Comfortable outdoor clothing
At least 2 litres of water
Lunch & snacks
Sunscreen & sunhat
Hiking poles optional (great for knees and lower back — I always carry mine)
Carry everything in a small backpack.
