Many people want deeper connection in their lives.
But another question often sits just underneath:

why does it sometimes feel hard to be fully yourself around others and why does that matter?

You might be around people, but still feel slightly guarded, a bit “on,” or not quite at ease.

And over time, that can mean:
• connection feels more surface-level than you’d like
• relationships don’t quite deepen
• or you leave interactions feeling a bit disconnected, even when things “went well”

In adult life, connection isn’t just about who you meet,
but about where you feel able to show up more fully as yourself.

This session is part of the Reconnection Circle,
a series of guided sessions exploring connection, belonging, and community in modern life.

In this 45-minute session, we’ll explore what gets in the way of feeling like yourself around others and what helps create the conditions for more natural, genuine connection.

During the session, we'll explore:
• what it actually means to feel like yourself around others
• why we sometimes hold back or adapt in different environments
• how to recognise spaces where you can be more open and at ease
You’ll also be guided through a short reflective exercise to help you notice where you already feel more like yourself and where you might want to create more of that.

The ideas in this session draw on The Reconnection Journey,
a framework I use with coaching clients to help people move from disconnection to belonging.

What to expect
The session will run for around 45 minutes and will include:
• a simple framework for understanding openness and safety
guided reflection prompts to apply this to your own experience
• a clearer way of thinking about why connection feels easier in some places than others
• optional time for questions at the end

Participation
You’re very welcome to simply listen.
You won’t be singled out. This is a space you can just come into, listen, and reflect.
To keep things smooth given the size of the group, this will run more like a live talk:
• participants will be on mute throughout
• there may be a couple of optional chat prompts during the session
• there will be a short Q&A at the end
