SACRAMENTO: The Truth About Grimmius Cattle Co. Outreach Event
2006 J St, Sacramento, CA 95811, 2006 J St, Sacramento, CA, USPlease join us for an outreach event to raise awareness about the standard cruelty of the dairy industry. We will be focusing on "calf-raising" operations in California, like the Grimmius Cattle Co.
Every single day, newborn calves are ripped from their mothers and shipped to facilities like Grimmius to be raised for the dairy and beef industries.
A DxE investigation documented the rough handling of newborn calves and their intensive confinement in small, barren hutches for the first few months of their lives—when they are at their most vulnerable.
We will show this evidence to the public and advocate for these animals through conversations.
At this event, we will:
* Show DxE’s investigation footage from Grimmius Cattle Co. on a TV screen
* Hold peaceful one-on-one conversations with the public about the reality of the dairy industry
* Distribute informational materials---

Meetup: Mass Beagle Rescue Attempt and the Strategy of Open Rescue
2414 6th St, Berkeley, 2414 6th St, Berkeley, CA, USOver the weekend over 1,000 compassionate people went to Ridglan Farms, a massive puppy mill that breeds dogs for experimentation, to try to save the lives of the approximately 2,000 beagles who are still languishing inside of the facility.
These brave and compassionate people were met with violence and brutality from the police.
Join us at the Meetup to hear more about what happened during the rescue attempt and discuss open rescue as a strategy to help achieve animal liberation.
More context about Ridglan: Ridglan Farms is a puppy mill in Wisconsin that breeds dogs for experimentation. For years activists have been working to shut the facility down and get all the dogs adopted to safe, loving homes. Investigators have been exposing criminal animal abuse at the facility since 2017. After a year long effort to get Ridglan prosecuted for criminal animal cruelty, the company managed to negotiate their way out of felony animal cruelty charges. The breeding facility is set to shut down (to avoid criminal charges) but the thousands of beagles languishing inside are still at risk of being euthanized or sold for cruel experiments. So activists took action to save their lives.
You can view the livestream of the rescue at: https://www.facebook.com/directactioneverywhere/videos/2154169428456731

United Markets Drop Petaluma Poultry
375 3rd St, San Rafael, CA 94901, 375 3rd St, San Rafael, CA, USDespite repeated requests, United Markets continues to sell chicken from Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry, a massive network of factory farms throughout California. We’ve documented criminal animal cruelty which routinely takes place at their facilities, including chickens being boiled alive and dying from treatable medical conditions like splayed legs and open necrotic wounds. Even the chickens that make it to slaughter live their whole lives in incredibly claustrophobic conditions surrounded by the corpses of their brethren covered in feces.
This is all for the profits of Petaluma Poultry and retailers like United Markets. Nothing will change unless people like you take action. Join us this Saturday, April 25th to demand that United Markets stop profiting from this extreme cruelty!
