Are expressions of anger or discomfort necessarily a threat to harmony or might they be signs of deeper care and moral urgency? Can a society truly be free if it fears to offend more than it values honesty? And how do our personal boundaries, cultural backgrounds, and emotional experiences influence what we consider civil or intolerable in the first place?
