Thonon and Ripaille Castle

Hello,
Let’s meet this Saturday for a hike to Thonon ad a visit to the castle of Ripaille!

This is a easy hike that will take us through the city centre of Thonon with views over the Leman, down to the lakeside and harbour. Then following the shore on to Ripaille, one of the main homes of the Dukes of Savoie. After going through the park we’ll visit the property itself, built during the Renaissance but with interiors refurbished in the Art nouveau style at the end of the 19th century. Let’s meet at the Thonon train station at 10:30. I’ll be on the Geneva train leaving at 09:31, if you want to join there. It’s about 2 and a half hour’s walk, so with the visit and breaks I think we’ll be back Thonon station around 3. The weather looks to be quite warm.
As usual please come prepared for changes in weather and with water, snacks, etc,. This is on the French side and you might need identification when crossing the border. The hike will go ahead if we’re at least 4 participants, I might save it for another occasion if there are not many takers this time. I am not a professional guide and decline responsibility for any incident.
