December is a crazy month, so let's take a moment to pause and reflect as we head towards the last few weeks of the year.
Part narrative therapy, part art therapy, a "Tree of Life" workshop aims to connect individuals with their unique qualities and strengths by inviting attendees to view themselves from a different perspecive.
We would love to invite all queer folks and allies who might be interested to join us at the Ivanhoe Library, in the Clara Southern Meeting Room.
Some pencils and markers will be provided, but artsy attendees are encouraged to bring their own supplies (no paint please, per the library's policy).
The session will start with a grounding exercise, include a morning tea break, offer chances to chat and connect throughout, and end with a breathing exercise.
Your hosts are:
Ben, an experienced mental health professional with psychotherapy training; I'll be providing structure and a warm & accepting environment.
Rachel, art therapist and mental health professional with 15 years experience running therapy groups for the queer and neurodiverse communities.
LGBT+ Social Hub Melbourne aims to provide a safe place for everyone; discrimination, harassment, abuse and consent violations will not be tolerated.
