Looking for a serious workout on trail with rewarding views?
This hike is for experienced hikers who enjoy climbing, moving with purpose, and pushing their cardio a bit.
Wildwood Canyon offers steep single-track, sustained climbs, and fantastic city views from the ridgeline and Verdugo Peak. We’ll work hard on the ups, recover briefly at junctions, and enjoy the scenery at the top before heading back down.

- Distance: ~5–6 miles
- Elevation Gain/Loss: ~1,500–2,300 ft cumulative
- Time: ~2–2.5 hours
- Terrain: Single-track, steep sections both uphill and downhill
- Pace: Brisk / conditioning pace (not a social stroll)
This is a conditioning-focused hike—think power-hiking on the climbs with short regrouping stops. Faster hikers are welcome to move ahead between regroup points.

- Meet: 9:00 AM at the Wildwood Canyon park entrance
- Quick stretch & introductions
- Hike up to Verdugo Peak

- Return via the same route
