Hike to Mt Hollywood in Griffith Park.

Join us for a moderate+ pace hike in Griffith Park. We will be taking the fire roads up to the Tom LeBonge lookout and take a very short break to enjoy the views of the city and surrounding areas. It is out and back, meaning we return on the same trail.

Level: Moderate +. Elevation gain appx 1,200 ft. You may walk faster or slower than the volunteer hike host- if you know the route. If you don't know the route, you must be able to keep up with the group or risk falling behind on your own. There is no sweep or volunteer to walk with the slower pace folks. We need to keep the pace in order for the group to finish by the posted event time, 8:30 pm.

Meetup time: 6:00pm. We leave by 6:05. Please arrive earlier if you need to use the restroom, and to find the parking lot. There might be rush hour traffic on the freeway so please also allow extra commute time so you are not rushing or run late. We leave by 6:05 so that we can finish on time. Also FYI, both my cell service and the app can be unreliable so it's not possible to check messages.

BRING- Water, comfortable hiking shoes or tennis shoes with good grip/tread, warm layers, poles optional, flashlight optional - there are no trail lights. Some folks find the trail manageable without flashlights. Some need more light. If you bring a flashlight, any color is fine but please limit the light to your steps so it doesn't disturb the non-flashlight hikers.

Meetup location: By the steps of Parking Lot #2 (the Merry Go Round parking lot) - North end of the lot.**

Restrooms: Arrive earlier than 6:00. They are a short walk north of the parking lot.

Water: Fountain by the restroom.
