Social Walk & DrinksπΆπ»π»π³π
Details
What to expect: π€
Join us for a fun walking event through Oxford. We will begin outside the Head of the River, where weβll take a leisurely walk along the River Thames.
Our next stop will be Isis Farmhouse, where weβll pause for a drink. After enjoying some refreshments, weβll continue our journey by making a U turn, walking back to the city centre. The event will conclude at the Holly Bush, where we will stop for drinks before our outing finally comes to a close.

- The total distance walked for this event will be roughly 4 miles.
- Repeated no-shows or instances of gate-crashing may result in removal from future group events.

Q&A π
Here are the answers to the most commonly asked questions relating to this event:
I'm new and feel anxious. Is this group not right for me? π¨
Attending for the first time is pushing you out of your comfort zone, so it is normal to feel anxious on your first occasion. We always have a mixture of new and old faces. Regulars are very welcoming and it takes only 2-4 events for most members to feel settled in. My advice is to give it a shot and reflect afterwards if the event is right for you.
How will I find you? π§
Once the organiser arrives, they will share in the comments roughly where we are located, with a description of what they are wearing.
Will I require hiking equipment? π₯Ύ
This is going to be a 4 mile walk, along a concrete path, so there is no need to prepare yourself for an intense hike.
Can I bring my pet dog with me? π
You're welcome to bring your dog on the walk! We just ask that you take full responsibility for them and any issues that might arise.
Can I just meet you at Isis Farmhouse? π»
Yes, you can! We aim to arrive at roughly 3 PM.
Do I have to return with you to the city centre? π
If leaving the event early is more convenient for you, you are welcome to leave when you see fit.
We live in Britain, surely it's going to rain? β
If this turns out to be the case, an alternative plan will be posted, likely being socialising in a nearby pub.
Where will I be able to park? π
Whilst it's not impossible to find parking in Oxford, the limited availability, as well as costs, can make parking incredibly challenging. Therefore, we encourage members to use the most convenient public transport available.
Can I bring additional people with me? π©π»βπ€βπ¨π½
Yes you can, providing they are aged 18 or over. You are also responsible for any potential problematic behaviours from guests you bring with you. Please put them as +1 when you check-in so we can try and find us enough space.
Is this a dating event? π©ββ€οΈβπ¨
Whilst we recognise and accept that relationships do form in social settings, we ask members to be mindful that this is not an event specifically for dating. Therefore, if your only reason for attending is to find your soulmate, this event will not be the right event for you.
I think I've found you, but I'm too scared to approach! Can I have the organisers contact number? π³
As we are not a business, organisers will not be making their personal numbers public. However, we will post in the comments a rough description of where we are located, as well as a description of what the organiser is wearing. The rest is about you stepping out of your comfort zone and approaching!
If I sustain an injury during the event, will the organisers provide compensation? π€
Your safety is our top priority, and we go to great lengths to ensure our events are hosted in a secure and welcoming environment. However, because we operate as a community-led group rather than a commercial business, we are unable to provide compensation or insurance coverage for personal injuries. By joining us, members have agreed to take full responsibility for their own health and safety. We encourage everyone to look out for one another and participate within their own comfort levels!
Group Rules π
These are the policies in place for the group:
1) Be respectful of others ππΌ
You'll encounter diverse individuals, some of whom you may not connect with immediately. Instead of arguing, acknowledge your differences. Refrain from harassing members, whether in person or on social media, outside of events.
2) Appreciate what the organisers do β€οΈ
Please remember we are not a business and that all the organisers in the group are hosting events on a voluntary basis. The events we host are for ourselves to enjoy as much as you do.
3) Have a valid photo of yourself in your profile π€³πΎ
There have been multiple occasions where members have received inappropriate messages, all from members without photos. To help prevent this from happening, we ask all members to provide a photo of themselves.
4) Update your attending status correctly β
Not knowing the correct number of attendees can negatively impact the event. Excessive absences and/or gatecrashing events, without valid reasons, will lead to removal from the group.
5) Do not take control of events hosted π€
The organisers already have a plan for the event they are hosting. To prevent any difficulties, respect what the organisers have set up for you. Members are welcome to organise additional activities once the event is over.
6) Do not advertise your own activities in the group without permission π
π»
Whilst we are happy to see additional events, they must apply to the group's structure. If you want to advertise any of your events, contact Kevin.
