Unfinished Basements delivers a steady stream of tuneful and driving ditties. Often melodious and sweet, other times punchy and poignant,
The songs are varied and multicoloured but unmistakably cut from the same cloth.
Founded by guitarist and singer/songwriter Adam Goulet, the music encompasses sensibilities absorbed from various musical traditions such as folk, pop, jazz, punk, blues, classical, Latin, and others. Poetry and comedy sometimes make surprise appearances. The excellent Hanser Santos Gomez is the musical other half of this live experience, employing his mastery of the congas and cajon full of fire and sensitivity. He lends his voice in harmony frequently, handsomely completing the duo setting. UB invites you into the strange, familiar newness of a subterranean playground where flippant flights of fancy are the norm and are richly rewarded.
