About Skipper Dean
Skipper Dean began his singing career with the group The Fabulous Fascinations, performing in various local venues across Montreal. As his career progressed, he shared the stage with major performers including The Young Rascals, Herman’s Hermits, Ben E. King, and Gary U.S. Bonds.
He later joined the U.S.-based group The Avalons, performing alongside artists such as Charles Aznavour, Johnny Farago, Ginette Reno, and Claude Valade. Skipper was also a member of The Platters, touring throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, the South Pacific, and Hawaii, where he performed with the legendary Don Ho.
Throughout his career, Skipper has also performed with renowned artists and ensembles including Quincy Jones, Oliver Jones, Michael Bolton, Paul Anka, The Temptations, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, the Montreal Jubilation Choir, and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.
His repertoire spans jazz, country, rock, pop, standards, R&B, and soul, with a special love for the music of the 1960s. With remarkable showmanship and a genuine connection with his audience, Skipper Dean continues to stand out as one of Montreal’s great classic soul and R&B performers.
