Automated Deployments using Terraform and GitHub Actions | TDC Community Week
Details
Welcome to two technical sessions about how to automate your infrastructure deployments in any cloud services using Terraform and how to deploy applications using GitHub Actions, presented by Inmeta Evangelist Devlin Duldulao. Inmeta is hosting the meetup in their centrally located office, and they will provide free drinks and food. This event is a part of the TDC Community Week.
Agenda
16:45 – 17:15 Welcome, Pizza and Soda
17:15 – 18:00 Automating your infrastructure deployments in any cloud services using Terraform
Terraform is an amazing toolset for automating infrastructure in the public and private cloud. This session will teach you the fundamentals of Terraform to deploy infrastructure in a consistent, repeatable manner across multiple cloud services like Azure, AWS, GCP, or Auth0.
18:00 – 18:15 Break
18:15 – 19:00 Deploying applications using GitHub Actions
Actions are a relatively new feature to GitHub that allows you to set up CI/CD workflows using a configuration file right in your Github repo. Previously, if you wanted to set up any kind of automation with tests, builds, or deployments, you would have to look to services like Circle CI and Travis or write your own scripts. But with Actions, you have first-class support to powerful tooling to automate your workflow.
In this session, I will teach you how to use GitHub Actions, all the terminologies, and how to configure a real-world workflow yaml.
