Warburton- O'Shannessy/ River Walk Circuit
Details
This week, we'll be getting into Trails;
The O'Shannessy Aqueduct Trail, the Yarra River Trail behind Warburton, and part of the Rail Trail from Warburton to Millgrove...
From towering eucalypts to shady English gardens, this 15km circuit captures the leafy and lush vegetation of the Yarra Valley.
Our start point will be at the Aqueduct carpark at the top of Dee rd. From here we'll follow the aqueduct trail that contours the hills behind Millgrove and Warburton. This is a relatively flat hike and follows well-formed paths throughout. We drop back down to the Yarra Trial behind Warburton where autumn shines... Situated on a southerly aspect, it's quite shady- an ideal hike for all year round and could be quite cool. Following a short, but picturesque stroll along the Yarra, we'll follow the 'Warby' trail approx 5km back to Millgrove.
Still, ensure to bring sun protection, drinking water for 4hr hike and snacks along the way.
For those who’d like to join us, we'll call by Cunningham's Hotel (Yarra Junction) for a late lunch on our way home.
There are no toilet facilities at our start point; the nearest being at Millgrove.
