Second Thursday Daytime Photo Walk

For our first walk in 2026, we are going just a bit farther than usual and visiting the town of Hico TX. Lots of murals and historic buildings and a Billy the Kid Museum if anyone is interested; it appears it might be free as I can't find a ticket price on the website. Lots of photo ops from what I can tell; I have been through here, but never visited other than to stop for lunch.
If you want to carpool/caravan from Rowlett, meet in the parking lot of the Rowlett DART Station in the area near Martin and Industrial at 8:30 am. It's about 2.25 hours from Rowlett to Hico so let's plan to meet there about 11:00 am at the Billy the Kid Statue at 114 N. Pecan St. It appears there is plenty of street parking in that area so should be a good meetup point.
As usual, we will shoot for an hour and a half to two hours, then have lunch. For lunch, we'll visit the iconic Koffee Kup restaurant at 300 2nd St. Good old American home cooking restaurant known for their fabulous pies! We probably will eat in the 12:45 - 1:00 pm timeframe so be sure and eat a good breakfast before we go. Wiseman House Chocolates is across the street from the restaurant if you want to go buy some goodies to take home with you or indulge before you leave Hico.
Regular walkabout lens should be fine for this walk.
Now, for some requests and warnings:
1. Weather is always a factor, especially in winter, so there is always the possibility of a last minute cancellation!
2. Please don't sign up unless you intend to go, and, if you find you aren't able to go after signing up, please change your RSVP so we aren't waiting for you.
3. Please sign up if you are going so that we know to expect and wait for you.
4. Please comment whether you will meet in Rowlett or in Hico so we know where to look for you.
5. Please comment as to whether you need a ride or can provide a ride so we can try and accommodate everyone.
