Our vision is to create a network of outdoors enthusiasts to share our adventures, to learn from, to have fun with, and to create life long friends. We hike in the Santa Monica Mountains. This is a non profit organization and we will be donating back to the community by having beach cleanups. Our group is also committed to protecting the special places we hike. Our new conservation effort seeks to protect threatened areas in the local mountains through fun and easy actions we can take. Have fun Hiking and hope to see you soon!

- big enough for 25 cars... so people should try to CARPOOL.
- ADMISSION into the park is approx $12 per car per day...
- If parking lot is full, there's TONS of parking in the lot, 1/4 mile from the campsite... (you can drop off your stuff in the closer parking lot, then park in the designated lot)
- FRONT GATE CLOSES FOR "INCOMING" VEHICLES AT 10PM

- SETUP: we can start setting up tent as early as 2PM... or come after work and set up any time... - OR come on by Saturday; your choice!!
- DINNER: around 6:30 PM; Bring something to eat and bring something to share
- EVENING: around 8 PM - OPTIONAL NIGHT HIKE AFTER CONCERT
- CAMPFIRE: around 9 PM - Trivia and Games
- QUIET TIME: 10:00 PM
SATURDAY, OCT 4, 2025
- BREAKFAST: On own 8:00 am
- HIKE: 11:30 am - 4:00 PM (pack your own lunch)
- POTLUCK DINNER: Ready to eat round 6:30 pm
- DANCE PARTY: around 8:00 PM (like last year, we'll have the "Fiesta-Pod", restored by Ken; playing 80's - 90's dance music)
- QUIET TIME: 10:00 PM

- BREAKFAST: On own 8:00 am
- RELAX & STRIKE CAMPSITE: ANY TIME
- CHECK OUT: Out by 12:00 pm - we have to be out by NOON on Sunday
MISC
- (there's a water pump near the campsite, if anyone's got a small inflatable pool, that might be cool!!)
- (people arriving late can stay around the campsite and do "whatever ya want")
- it's around 120 yards from the parking lot to the campsite - if you got a wagon, BRING IT!
- there's 6 flush restrooms, 6 sinks, 4 showers and 10 picnic tables
- Showers: are FREE at the group site!!!yay!!!
- CAMP FIRES DEPEND ON WEATHER CONDITIONS, but personal propane / Jet-boils are OK
- We got the music covered with John's Fiesta Pod, lovingly restored by Ken.

- Conditions may be too dry for ANY kind of fire... bring portable burners / Jet-Boils if you need them to prepare food.

- "corn-hole game" / beach balls / and that sort of thing might be fun, as well

START TIME: We usually wait 15 -20 minutes grace, but please try to arrive on time.
RESTROOMS: Flush toilets๐ฝ in the parking lot with.
WHERE TO FIND US: Look for the large group of people by the bathroom.

- Service animals are allowed on trails. ๐โ๐ฆบ
- However the official rule is: โMalibu Creek State Park is a pet-friendly recreation area that preserves the Malibu Creek Canyon in the Santa Monica Mountains. Dogs on a leash are allowed in the park's day-use areas and campgrounds but not on the trails or dirt tracks.โ
- Bring a bag and Pick up after ๐ฆฎ๐ฉ
PARKING ๐ ฟ๏ธ
- Regular parking fee at the park is $12/day. (It never hurts to support our parks).
- If you have a Los Angeles Public Library card, you can pick up a California State Library Park Pass. This pass offers FREE Day Use Parking at Malibu Creek State Park. (This tip comes from our wonderful Stacy :) )
- Alternately, you can arrive 15 minutes earlier and park at the corner of Mulholland and Las Virgenes/Malibu Canyon for FREE and then walk in.
( 40 minute drive from Santa Monica )
We'll be hiking 4 1/2 miles ROUND-TRIP to the MASH filming site. Slight elevation gain. GREAT FOR BEGINNERS!!!

FROM Santa Monica travel NORTH on PCH approx 12 miles. Make a RIGHT on Malibu Canyon Road. (just before Pepperdine University) Approx 6 miles up the road, make a LEFT turn into Malibu Creek State Park. Fee is approx $12. We're at the back of the SECOND parking lot on the left, approx 4/10 mile from the entrance
