MARY POPPINS FESTIVAL - PRACTICALLY PERFECT W'END AWAY🌂

Three Days, one Magical Mary Poppins Festival, a wander through Cooroy's Maple Street and a delicious Kenilworth pit stop on the way home!
With a spoonful of sugar and a dash of magic, the streets of Maryborough come alive with the world of Mary Poppins!
Every year, the beautiful heritage city of Maryborough does something truly special — it transforms itself into the living, breathing world of P.L. Travers, the remarkable Australian woman who gave the world its most beloved nanny. Mary Poppins story characters spill out onto the streets, roving entertainment fills the air, and around every corner there's something that'll grab a smile, a laugh, or a stop-and-stare moment.
Costumes are all part of the fun, so if you feel like pulling a carpet bag out and dressing the part... absolutely go for it, and you'll be part of Maryborough's official World Record attempt for the most people dressed in Mary Poppins themed costumes! A history in the making! 🎉🌂

We're staying two nights so we can enjoy the festival day from start to finish with so much fun happening around us! 🌂
Our first must-do is the Story Bank - this magnificently restored heritage building is the actual birthplace of P.L. Travers herself, and stepping inside feels like stepping into the story. From there we'll find ourselves cheering on the famous Nanny Race - prams flying, nannies racing, the crowd going wild - before watching sooty competitors go head to head in the Chimney Sweep Challenge!
The Costume Competition is one not to miss - whether we've come dressed for the occasion or are perfectly happy watching the fabulous entries go by, there'll be plenty of laughs either way! And keep an eye out for Mary Poppins herself, Bert the chimney sweep, the booming Admiral Boom, Uncle Albert and Mrs Banks wandering the streets and mingling with us throughout the day - we'll never quite know who'll pop up around the next corner.
The afternoon builds to the Grand Parade - colour, characters and costumes all rolling through the heritage streets of Maryborough - where those of us in costume can jump right in, while the rest of us cheer from the sidelines. 🌂
And of course, through all of it - the laughs, the characters, the parade, the unexpected moments - we'll have the best possible company to share it with. Good friends, fun conversations, and plenty of photo snaps along the way! 😊🌂

✔ If you haven't travelled with us before, know that it's rare we drive more than 1.5 hours at a stretch without either a town visit or a short refresher stop along the way! 😊

Refunds and Conditions
▪ Full payment is required at time of RSVP - no exceptions.
▪ If you invite a +1 guest, please pay on their behalf.
▪ This event closes to RSVPs on 18 June 2026 or when a minimum of 8 tickets are claimed, whichever comes first. Minimum attendees = 8; Maximum attendees = 10.
▪ Cancellations after 18 June 2026 will incur a $60 Cancellation/Amendment Fee.
▪ No refunds will be issued after RSVPs close on 18 June 2026, unless your place is taken by an approved member of our Meetup group.
▪ If you cancel after bookings close, I will endeavour to sell your ticket for you, but no guarantees.
▪ Reselling tickets is a courtesy, not an entitlement. Refunds are directed to your bank account only. Tickets may not be passed on to another person without prior approval.
▪ If you resign or are removed from our Meetup group, the Cancellation/Amendment Fee still applies, even if the adventure has not yet commenced.
▪ No refunds will be issued after 25 June 2026.
▪ In the event of any changes or amendments to the adventure or itinerary, or reallocation of hosts, there are no refunds.
▪ In the unlikely event the trip is cancelled due to insufficient numbers, full refunds will be directed to your bank account within 5 business days.
▪ Failure to arrive on time will void the ticket entirely with no refunds.
▪ If you are prone to motion sickness, please bring appropriate medication with you.
▪ Members are required to produce a valid credit card for standard motel room security.
▪ All other meals and drinks, unless specifically mentioned as included in the event description above, are at your own expense.
▪ No smoking, vaping or mobile phone use (except the camera app) while in company — let's be as tech free as we can!
▪ The adventure will still go ahead if it rains.
▪ The organiser and host reserve the right to discontinue any unused portion of your ticket if necessary due to safety, health or behaviour concerns. Members will be informed of the reason and are responsible for arranging their own return home, along with all associated costs. This would occur only in very rare instances where a member's behaviour is deemed completely out of line with our group's ethics — this measure is in place to ensure the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all participants, and to uphold our standards of respectful and ethical conduct.
