New Years Day- White Tank Mountains Regional Park- Ford Canyon Trail- Dam & Back

Lets start off the New Years with an in & out, 7 - 8 mile hike at the "White Tank Mountains Regional Park".

We will hike a portion of the "Ford Canyon Trail" - to the dam and back - about 3 to 4 miles each way. We'll take a snack/lunch break at the top of the dam. There is a few hundred feet of elevation gain - enough to give us a good work out. We plan on keeping a fairly steady pace so we can be done by 2:00 pm. You are welcome to join us for the full hike or you can go as far as you want and return on your own.

There is some boulder hoping involved, I would rate this as a Moderate Hike.

We can meet at the Visitors Center/Library parking lot at White Tank Park at 10 am. There is a $7/car entry fee to the park - there are carpool options from the library.

You will need at least 1 liter of water (2 would be better), snacks, sturdy hiking shoes, sun protection and personal first aid kit.
