Sunrise Peak from Lost Dog Wash

Join us for a moderately challenging hike to Sunrise Peak from Lost Dog Wash Trailhead in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve!

We will make the climb uphill at a steady pace (about 1300 feat over 3 miles). Once we reach the summit, we will take a break to enjoy the views and a snack before heading back down.

I plan to hike at a steady 2 mile per hour pace uphill. You should be comfortable hiking 3 miles uphill at this pace with minimal breaks. If you are new to hiking or don't hike regularly, this may not be the hike for you.

• Be sure to wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and uneven, rocky ground.
• Hiking poles are recommended if you use them.
• Bring plenty of water.
• Friendly dogs on a leash are welcome.
• Downloading the Alltrails app is highly recommended so you can navigate and turn around if you need to leave early for any reason.
