Hey, it’s your friendly neighborhood Trail Coordinator!

Apologies for the short notice, but I wanted to be absolutely sure we weren’t out there working in below freezing temps. Digging in frozen ground is not fun.

The next BC Trail workday is scheduled for December 20th, 9am at the BC Clubhouse. We’ll have breakfast snacks in the Clubhouse - meet us inside! We will drive to the work site(s) no later than 915am.

What are we doing?

  • Small odd jobs:
  • Add signage to Silver Glow! (8-10 posts across whole trail)
  • Fix a couple boards on a bridge near Dad Bod/AVID
  • More work on Dad Bod Re-ride trail (further define it, flatten bumps and fill holes)
  • Remove log drop (first feature when riding CW) due to liability concerns

What will TORC bring?

  • Spare tools & lumber to work on bridge repair
  • Spare tools & lumber for bridge work
  • Enough tools for 1-2 people to work on Dad Bod re-ride
  • Enough tools for 2-3 people to work on Silver Glow

What should you bring?

  • Your favorite dirt-work gear
  • Gloves, water, appropriate clothing (long pants recommended, close toed shoes a must)

Waiver? What’s that?
If you’re volunteering, please read and sign the waiver: https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=375901 . It focuses on limiting TORC liability during workdays and only applies to 2025.

Kid friendly?
Yes, as long as they can follow rules (e.g. dig here, move this there, don’t step in front of a swinging tool). We will have a circular saw in use with the bridge group.

Newbie friendly?
This is newbie friendly, if you’re part of a dedicated group.

Post workday ride:
I’m looking for volunteers that are interested in leading one. I cannot due to childcare constraints.
