What we’re about
Vegan-Powered is about living life in harmony with people, animals & the planet. We are open to everyone on the vegan path & the vegan-curious. We embrace & seek to maximize our diversity.
Active vegans and vegan athletes (& coach potatoes!) of all activity and experience levels are welcome to our informal social network! Lets support each other with whatever goals we have from anyone just starting a fitness routine to the most experienced. We're here for you!
Yearly we have a VP (Vegan-Powered) team for the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary 5k (& 1 miler) in Wheaton, MD. Please join us or donate to our team!
You can also connect with us on Strava or Facebook.
If you have a suggested meetup or want to organize a meetup please dm me through Meetup or directly at thebootcampgirl@gmail.com.
Meetup is free for members but Meetup charges dues to organizers (that have continually increased). You can donate to help offset costs to keep the group going by clicking HERE. You contribution is greatly appreciated!

Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Planet Maryland (with optional walk beforehand)Elm Street Urban Park, Chevy Chase, MD
Planet Maryland (formerly Planet Bethesda) is a music and fun festival that's all vegan (woo-hoo!). It's Sunday June 22nd in Elm Street Urban park.
By the way, everyone is welcome (vegan and vegan-curious)! Please only eat vegan food during any of the Meetups.
I highly encourage sustainable transportation like biking, carpooling or metroing to any event. Also bring utensils, napkin, water bottle and container for food to reduce trash. Lets keep the carbon footprint of events as low as possible.
Description from their website about the festival:
"Join us for Planet Maryland on Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm, at Elm Street Urban Park—a fun-filled festival celebrating sustainability, health and incredible food! Enjoy 50+ food vendors, engaging talks from top experts, interactive exhibits, and the Pink Moon Planet Play Zone for children. Whether you’re passionate about the planet or just passionate about great food, this is your chance to connect, learn, and indulge in delicious eats while making a difference. Don’t miss out!"
If you have any questions about the event, click HERE to go to the website for more information.
By the way, anyone want to do a walk or run beforehand on the Captial Cresent trail? Please post in comment what you would prefer (walk or run). It would be out-and-back so there's no worries about getting lost. Depending on what we decide, I'll post a separate Meetup with the start time.
