- Zero Waste seminar with the Mixed Vegetables Improv group (In-person and Zoom)Howard County Library System HCLS, Glenwood Branch, Cooksville, MD
I'm conducting a free zero waste seminar at the Glenwood library in Maryland. Mixed Vegetables, an improv group, will be joining me to make this learning experience even more fun! You can join in-person or online.
Description:
"Are you interested in reducing your waste and simplifying your life? Please join us to learn about less wasteful alternatives to common products, successful habit change principles and strategies to navigate common situations. Demonstrations and a zero waste “show and tell” will be incorporated as we discover easy steps toward zero waste living. In addition to helping the planet, zero waste (or low waste) living can be healthier, more economical and result in less clutter. Our presenter, Stephanie Dignan is a certified yoga instructor and incorporates her knowledge of yoga philosophy into zero waste living."
This class is being presented in-person at the Glenwood branch and simultaneously will be broadcast online via Zoom. There is a separate registration for each format of the class.
REGISTRATION OPENS ON MAY 1ST

- Planet Bethesda (with optional walk beforehand)Elm Street Urban Park, Chevy Chase, MD
Planet Maryland (formerly Planet Bethesda) is a music and fun festival that's all vegan (woo-hoo!). It's Sunday June 2nd in Elm Street Urban park.
By the way, everyone is welcome (vegan and vegan-curious)! Please only eat vegan food during any of the Meetups.
I highly encourage sustainable transportation like biking, carpooling or metroing to any event. Also bring utensils, napkin, water bottle and container for food to reduce trash. Lets keep the carbon footprint of events as low as possible.
For any event, you are agreeing to the liability waiver found HERE.
Description from their FB page about the festival:
"Once again the Planet Series is coming to Elm Street Park in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Join us on Sunday, June 2nd at Elm Street Park for fantastic food, kids' korner, beer garden, giveaways and so much more. The Planet Maryland event has inspired Planet Virginia (in April), Planet Delaware (in September) and Planet DC (in October) and we can't wait to see you at all the Planet Series Events in 2024!
Same location! New attractions! Expanded exhibitors! So much more!"If you have any questions about the event, click HERE to go to the website for more information.
By the way, anyone want to do a walk or run beforehand on the Captial Cresent trail? Please post in comment what you would prefer (hike or run). It would be out-and-back so there's no worries about getting lost. Depending on what we decide, I'll post a separate Meetup with the start time.
