Laycock, Keighley Moor and Goose Eye
Details
The walk
Carole and Maggie will be leading this 7.5 mile walk circular walk.
Leaving Laycock we head downhill through Holme House Wood to visit Captain Tom Moor’s memorial; we head west out to Keighley Moor reservoir, before walking across the moor heading for the village of Newsome. We follow a track to Holme House, down into the woods and emerge back into Goose Eye. A steep road climb leads us back into Laycock.
Starting/Meeting point:
Starting at Laycock Village Hall, Keighley BD22 0PH, what 3 words: arena.hers.below. Plenty of on street parking.
Note:
We meet at 10:20 am to enable walk to commence at 10.30 please tel walk organiser (Ian R 07410 380801) if you may be running late.
Walking boots, waterproofs and a packed lunch are required.
We do not allow dogs as we go through many farmer's fields with livestock.
Please do not walk in front of the walk leader unless asked to do so.
Fees
New membership for 2026 is £10 which includes 100's of walks with any of our 6 mid-week groups. For anyone who is not an annual member, we ask for a £1 donation toward our admin and insurance costs.
Please pay the Walk leader on the day.
(Note: £10 for 2025 is for 100's of walks available through the Midweek Wayfarers various groups)
