More about us
Formed in 1979 we now have over 250 members.
Our club welcome adults of all ages and background to join our friendly and welcoming mid-week walking groups. We have 6 different groups walking from 3 miles up to 8 to 10 Monday to Thursday every week. Some walks are accessed by public transport and for others, it's best by car to the start point.
We run occasional coach trips to walks outside the immediate area. Also, we have an annual holiday usually in September to Arnside for the walking group members.
Should you just want to join us for the occasional day then we ask for a £1 donation to help cover our Admin, IT and Insurance costs. However, if you would like to become an annual member it costs £10 from the 1st of January 2023. This will give you access to 100's of walks per annum! A massive saving if you are a regular walker. Payment should be made to the group leader on your first walk.
Being a mid-week walking group the walks tend to appeal to retired people and people with flexible working days.
Whoever you are when you join us you will be made very welcome.
We use What3words as our location finder for walk start points.
