AI agents are becoming an increasingly practical way to build more helpful, responsive and connected experiences.

In this hands-on Women Coders workshop, we’ll explore how to build an AI agent using Twilio’s technology. You’ll get an introduction to the key concepts involved, see how the different components fit together, and work through the foundations of creating an agent that can interact with users and respond to real-world requests.

The session will focus on practical experimentation rather than theory, giving you the opportunity to learn by building and leave with a better understanding of what’s possible with AI agents and Twilio.

Whether you’re curious about AI, interested in conversational experiences, or already exploring how agents could be used in your own applications, this session will provide a practical place to start.

About the speaker:
Michelle “MishManners” Duke (nee Mannering), is a multi-talented personality in the tech and gaming communities. Mish has worked in the technology space for the last decade and has a tonne of experience in developer advocacy 🥑, community management, marketing, and content creation. She loves creating fun, engaging, and authentic content. Mish has written over 1700 articles, delivered over 400 talks, including more than ten keynotes, and produced over 200 videos on technical topics, the importance of collaboration, community building, and the future of work. She is also a respected leader in the hackathon community, having won, organised, and mentored at numerous events.

Mish is a successful entrepreneur and founder, having co-founded several companies. She has been a driving force in Melbourne's entrepreneurial culture and sits at the forefront of the city's science, tech, esports, and startup scenes. She has been instrumental in pioneering esports to become mainstream and has been recognised as an influential woman in the industry. Throughout her career, Mish has been a dedicated advocate for diversity, inclusion, and community building, inspiring others to pursue their passions in tech, gaming, and entrepreneurship. You'll often catch her at an event or speaking on stage 🎤
