Stage to Screen Film Series--"The Lehman Trilogy"

Bing Crosby Theater

**This is not an official Meetup, it's the 2019/2020 Stage to Screen Film Series at the Bing Crosby Theater I wanted to bring to everyone's attention. There will be no formal get-togethers before or after the show.** Hello, film and stage lovers! Aaron Spickelmire, assistant organizer, contacting you about the 2019/2020 Stage to Screen Film Series, taking place at the Bing Crosby Theater throughout this summer. Theses are stage plays, performed in front of a live audience in the recent past, that are filmed and edited and then presented as motion pictures. The first film on Sunday, October 20 is THE LEHMAN TRILOGY, a critically acclaimed National Theatre production: The Lehman Trilogy Date: Sunday, October 20, 2019 Showtime: 2:00 PM The story of a family and a company that changed the world, The Lehman Trilogy is directed by Academy Award-winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall, The Ferryman). Simon Russell Beale, Adam Godley and Ben Miles play the Lehman brothers, as well as a cast of characters including their sons and grandsons, in an extraordinary feat of storytelling which the New York Times called ‘three of the most virtuosic performances you’re ever likely to see.’ They were jointly nominated in 2019 for a best actor Olivier Award. The Lehman Trilogy weaves through nearly two centuries of Lehman lineage. On a cold September morning in 1844 a young man from Bavaria stands on a New York dockside. Dreaming of a new life in the new world. He is joined by his two brothers and an American epic begins. 163 years later, the firm they establish – Lehman Brothers – spectacularly collapses into bankruptcy, and triggers the largest financial crisis in history. Gerard Baker in the Wall Street Journal wrote, “you should crawl across broken glass to buy tickets to ‘The Lehman Trilogy.’” There is a general admission fee of $13 per person, with tickets available at the door and on the Bing website (http://http://www.bingcrosbytheater.com/events/1775/the-lehman-trilogy). I hope anyone who is able to attend enjoys the film, and welcomes the opportunity see these highly acclaimed stage productions on the Bing's big screen throughout the fall and winter.
