Silent Book Club - Vic Park Community Space (The Return of the Cooler Weather)
Vic Park Community Space, 10/660 Albany Hwy, Victoria Park 6100, Perth, AUHave you been looking for a book club that doesn't require you to read a specific book or participate in a formal discussion?
Look no further than The Silent Book Club, a global movement that has taken root in our community. Join us for an afternoon of quiet reading in the company of friends and peers. Here's what to expect:
On the last Sunday of every month, we'll gather to read at the Vic Park Community Space (enter via Miller St, Victoria Park) !
At 2 pm, join us to chat with other readers about what you're currently reading and books in general. If you arrive before 2pm, feel free to grab a coffee from the nearby café (Modus is around the corner on Albany Hwy)
From 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm, we'll observe an hour of silence as we read our books together. To signal the end of the reading session, a 60-minute timer will be set.
At 3:30 pm, you're welcome to leave or stay and socialise with fellow book lovers.
This event is set to occur monthly, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Jackbox Games at Dome Belmont (and alternative format)
Dome Cloverdale, 237 Knutsford Avenue, Belmont Cinema Complex, Cloverdale, Cloverdale, AUJackbox games are party games that are all about creativity, guessing, and humour. To play them, you need to use your web browser on your mobile phone. You don't need an app.
This Meetup will start at 7 pm and go until 8:30 pm. We will be in the meeting room at Dome Belmont.
During the last time I tried to host it, we didn’t have a high number of RSVPs (you want at least five RSVPs), so if that’s the case again, I will bring some colouring-in sheets and treat this event as an evening chill format.
Below is a brief description of the games we typically play.
Guesspionage: Guess the percentage of people who’ve done a specific activity based on survey results. Earn points by making accurate estimations and predicting group votes.
Fibbage: Create believable but false answers to obscure trivia questions. Aim to make others believe your fib is true while picking the correct answer from a list of lies.
Drawful: Get bizarre prompts to draw on your devices. Others guess what the drawing represents. Earn points for accurate guesses and tricking others with your creative, incorrect descriptions.
Job Job: Answer interview questions using words from others’ responses. Create amusing and quirky answers. The audience and fellow players vote for the funniest responses.
Quiplash: Provide witty answers to prompts. The audience and fellow players vote for the funniest responses.
