Want to talk movies and expand your viewing horizons?

Join the Movie Club as we discuss the movies that TimeOut calls, 'The 100 Best Movies Ever Made.'

Number 3 on the list, and our film for May, is Citizen Kane (1972). 'Citizen Kane always finds a way to renew itself for a new generation of film lovers. For newbies, the journey of its bulldozer of a protagonist - played with inexhaustible force by actor-director-wunderkind Orson Welles.'

To join in, we will be following a similar format to a book club, participants will need to view the film before the meeting then come ready to discuss. Members will also have the opportunity to make recommendations, give reviews and hopefully make some new friends in the process.

Bouldering @ Portside

Needs a location

Note: this event has been pushed back due to work commitments.

=== Bouldering ===

Bouldering is indoor rock climbing without ropes or harnesses. You climb walls up to about 5m in height, then climb back down. It is a fun, physical activity that requires a bit of thinking to work out how you'll tackle each climb as you get to more complicated routes.

I've set up this event as this is my regular climbing day (~9am), and I've left it open for anyone who wants to join me or try it out. My best so far is level 3/9, so don't count me as a great climber; I'm still building strength, learning technique, and getting over my fear of heights.

No prior experience is necessary, as a beginner safety walkthrough and online waiver will be provided on first entry. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Please ensure if you're a close contact, you've completed a RAT, and wear a mask.

Message me on this app if you would like me to meet you at the entrance, even after 9am, as my Airpods will notify me that you've sent the message.

=== Details ===

Price: ~$24 (entry & shoes)
Accessibility: Able bodied*
Difficulty: Moderate

*As it turns out, there's a double amputee that's been doing this... admirable.

Sharing The Mental Healthy Journey Zoom Meetup

Location visible to members

This is a timed sharing meetup where we set a space for you to talk about what is going on for you without interruption or cross-talk. I have benefitted from this type meeting in the past and wanted to try an online form of it.

We will start by selecting a few topics to discuss, you are not obliged to talk about the topics but you may wish to use them as prompts, you may share about whatever is pressing for you. We will than take turns in sharing until we have all had our turn, there is no obligation to share if you would rather just listen.

While someone is sharing we set a quite and comfortable space for them. Once every who wishes to speak has done so we will have a bit of a casual debrief before ending the meeting.

You will need the Passcode to enter the Zoom session:

Meeting ID:[masked]
Passcode: uSZK5Y

I hope to see you online 🙂
Thanks
Chris
