Soy Cuba tells four separate stories set in pre‑revolutionary Cuba, each focusing on different people dealing with poverty, inequality and political tension. The film is famous for its striking black and white cinematography and long, fluid camera movements that make even everyday scenes visually memorable. It mixes Cuban and Soviet influences, which gives it a style unlike anything else from the period. Although it was largely forgotten when first released, directors like Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola helped bring it back to international attention decades later because of its innovative filmmaking. The film will surley spark intresiting conversations about politics, visual storytelling and the way cinema can capture a moment in history.
The film is in Spanish with English subtitles.
