Hey Randoms,

Here we go again! The classic hike through the National Park in Sweden - Söderåsen - but with a twist.

We now go hard, and complete it in 2 days, 1 night!

We meet in CPH Central station and ride the train together. The hiking starts once we get off the train in Åstorp and finish Sunday in Höör. Both towns have decent train connections, and tickets are available from skånetrafiken.se

The Hike
There are pretty good water posts along the way. In several cases, the wells are shallow and the water is not safe to drink without filtering or some other type of purification. You need to bring a system for that, or let me know if you need support. Don't expect any food resupply options. Breaks will be short, no cooking. Food intake mostly happens as we walk, not stopping. Cooking is an option in camp, after the hike - as per your individual preference.

We stop for foot maintenance as often as needed - be proactive, do not expect hot spots and blister candidates to go away. It's better to stop and tape it up.

We are not likely to get a shelter. Bring a tent, hammock, tarp or similar.

Bailing out?
Bailing out is tricky on this one, and in case you want to bail you need to manage all navigation and logistics yourself - we don't have a support team er pre-planned exit options.

Randoms Rules Apply
Also, be aware that this hike is a Randoms hike, so the usual rules apply. This is not an easy hike, and we will get tired. Please be aware that this is a group hike. We hike together, we hike at pace of the slowest hiker. We all need to manage the gap behind us - not the gap in front of us.

Group hike, we stick together, no gaps.

Group hike, we stick together, no gaps.

This helps us achieve flow. And flow means a better average pace over time.

Flow
Try to keep your pack on during very short breaks. E.g. when somebody ties a shoe lace or does a quick change of clothes or socks, or stops for a second to grab something from the pack. When packs drop, it can take quite a while to mobilize the group again, and the breaks tend to add up to a very long day, increasing overall fatigue.

Also, make sure to have your water and snacks available - without having to take off your pack.
This has great impact on flow.

Flow is faster over time. And flow means less fatigue. Less fatigue means a better experience.

Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.

And as usual, you need to come self-supported. As if you were going solo.
