The Quiet American
Detalles
1950s Vietnam: a British reporter (Michael Caine) and a mysterious American aid worker (Brendan Fraser) become romantic rivals.
Philip Noyce directed this 2002 version of Graham Greene's 1955 novel from a Christopher Hampton-Robert Schenkkan adaptation. Filmed directly in Vietnam, its release was delayed a year because the studio feared that a story critical of American foreign policy was out of step with the nation's post-9/11 mood. (A 1958 version had turned the story on its head to give it a pro-Washington spin!)
