About the group
This Meetup group is for indie and local music fans to see some great shows, meet some new people, and support independent/small label and local bands in the process.
We attend shows in the DC/MD/VA area with a focus on smaller concert venues such as the 9:30 Club, Black Cat, Union Stage, DC9, Songbyrd, Jammin' Java, etc.

Please suggest new venues, shows, and bands! Any genre! This group is active and you should be able to find someone else interested in seeing the show you want to go to (and not have to drag your friends who are not so interested in that band or music in general).
How our events work
All of our events have an Event Host who will send a message to all RSVPs with a general plan for a time and specific location to meet up. With some events, the plan may be to just to meet up inside the venue. If you would like to volunteer to host an event, send Melissa a message for details.

The New Pornographers @ 9:30 Club
9:30, 815 V Street Northwest, Washington, DC, USJoin us across the street at roughly 6:30 p.m. for a slice of pizza at Andy's Pizza, doors open at the 9:30 club at 7:00, there's an opening act, then The New Pornographers, probably by 8:30 or 9:00 p.m.

💥Bikini Kill💥
The Fillmore Silver Spring, 8656 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD, USMothers of the Riot Grrrl movement, Bikini Kill burst onto the PNW alt scene in 1991, at the same time as bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Known for high energy, in your face performances, the band became an integral part of DC’s 90’s punk scene often working with members of Fugazi. The Singles is a compilation (9 songs in 17 minutes!) of songs from that era.
Rebel Girl - live on Colbert
The Fillmore is a medium sized venue (a bit larger than the 930) in downtown Silver Spring. It’s a 10 minute walk from the SS metro station and there are several nearby parking garages.
