Purpose: to promote activities that provide opportunities for attendees to practice English and Italian while connecting with each other and learning about Italian history and culture. We currently have both in person and online activities.

🇮🇹 Sabato 23 maggio ci aspetta una serata speciale nel cuore del centro storico di Napoli: APERISCENA, organizzata da Partenopera Lab. Il palco è aperto a tutti! Performance libere di massimo 6 minuti: canto, poesia, lettura espressiva, monologhi, stand-up comedy, magia, improvvisazione teatrale, mimo, musica strumentale… o qualsiasi cosa vi venga in mente!
Un'occasione perfetta per esibirvi, fare nuove conoscenze e godervi un aperitivo in un'atmosfera creativa e accogliente. Anche solo come spettatori, sarà una bella serata!

The stage is open to everyone! Free performances of up to 6 minutes: singing, poetry, expressive reading, monologues, stand-up comedy, magic, theatrical improvisation, mime, instrumental music… or anything else you can think of!
A perfect chance to perform, meet new people and enjoy an aperitivo in a creative, welcoming atmosphere. Even just as spectators, it'll be a lovely night!

·En líneaEn líneaIl Risorgimento is a historic period which resulted in the Unification of Italy in the 19th century. Before 1861, the Italian peninsula was not a State, but was divided into many small kingdoms and territories controlled by different rulers. The Unification of Italy represented not only a political change, but also an important cultural and social transformation. Many Italians began to feel part of the same nation, united by language, history and common traditions.
In this reading, we will discover the paths towards Unification, and we will meet the characters who made it happen. We’ll see you there!
Il Risorgimento è il periodo storico che portò all’unificazione dell’Italia nel XIX secolo. Prima del 1861, la penisola italiana non era uno Stato unico, ma era divisa in molti piccoli regni e territori controllati da sovrani diversi. L’unificazione italiana rappresentò non solo un cambiamento politico, ma anche un’importante trasformazione culturale e sociale. Molti italiani iniziarono a sentirsi parte di una stessa nazione, uniti dalla lingua, dalla storia e dalle tradizioni comuni.
In questa lettura, scopriremo i percorsi che hanno portato all’Unificazione e incontreremo i personaggi che l’hanno resa possibile. Ci vediamo!

The Plan:
- We will all read the presentation in Italian within smaller groups/breakout rooms.
- We will translate the passages into English.
- We will gather back in the main room to reflect on the reading and discuss our thoughts.
