The Scrum guide describes Scrum for a single team. When doing Scrum with multiple teams, lots of new questions pop up. This is the meetup to ask these questions, discuss & understand the underlying system dynamics and come up with improvement experiments to try out and learn from.
For whom: This meetup is for interested agile coaches, scrum masters, trainers, managers, developers and everyone else who is interested in multi-team Scrum.
Our foundations: One important foundation for our discussions is the agile framework "LeSS" (Large Scale Scrum). From it we take many thinking and coaching tools that we practice and discuss. Another important source of ideas will be the companies in Nürnberg/Fürth/Erlangen who are improving continuously with experiments and are willing to share their findings with us.
Some of the more concrete questions that we tackle:
- How broad or narrow should we define the product? What consequences does this have? - How do you start a new Scrum adoption in a multi-team environment? All at once or gradually?
- What are some effective techniques to understand complex relationships in large product organisations?
- How many product backlogs do you need? What are the consequences of these choices?
- When do you need cross-functional teams? How can you get there step-by-step?
- What is required in an organization to achieve adaptability (agile) and focus on highest value
- What are some effective tools to facilitate retrospectives in multi-team settings?
- And many many more
We believe that for most of these questions there are no right or wrong answers, because every context has its own special aspects. Our main goal is to collaboratively understand the underlying dynamics more deeply, get ideas for experiments that can be tried and learn from experiments that others have already tried.

Agilität verstehen statt kopieren – vom Symptom zur Ursache
·En líneaEn líneaViele Organisationen sagen, sie wollen „agil werden“.
Doch was ist eigentlich das Problem, das wir damit lösen wollen?
Ist Agilität das Ziel – oder nur ein Mittel zum Zweck?
Und warum fühlt sich Agilität in der Praxis so oft schwer, langsam oder widersprüchlich an?
In diesem Meetup nehmen wir uns Zeit, genau diese Fragen gemeinsam zu erkunden.
Wir starten bewusst einen Schritt früher – vor Frameworks, Rollen und Events:
### 🔍 Was ist eigentlich das Problem?
Abhängigkeiten, fehlende Verantwortung, langsame Feedbackzyklen, widersprüchliche Prioritäten – Symptome kennen wir genug. Aber welches System erzeugt sie?
### 🏎️ Was bedeutet „agil“ wirklich?
Anhand eines einfachen Bildes (Formel-1 vs. LKW) diskutieren wir, warum Agilität immer vom Kontext und Zweck abhängt – und warum dieselben Praktiken in unterschiedlichen Organisationen völlig unterschiedliche Wirkungen haben.
### 🧩 Organisationsdesign greifbar machen
Wir nutzen das Galbraith Star Model, um typische Fehlanpassungen sichtbar zu machen – z. B. wenn Strategie, Struktur, Prozesse und Anreizsysteme nicht zusammenpassen. Kein Theoriemonolog, sondern konkrete Beispiele aus dem Alltag.
### 🗺️ Wo stehen wir – und wo wollen wir hin?
Mit der Org Topology Map schaffen wir ein gemeinsames Bild davon,- wie Arbeit heute geschnitten ist,
- wo Abhängigkeiten entstehen
- und welche strukturellen Muster Agilität unterstützen oder behindern.
### 🔄 Outside-in: Vom Kunden her denken
Wir werfen einen Blick auf einen Outside-in-Designprozess:- Strategie und Richtung
- „Go See“ statt Annahmen
- Customer / User Journey und Arbeitsflüsse
- Welche Art von Agilität braucht dieser Kontext?
- Lernen über Plan–Do–Check–Act
### 🔁 Inside-out: Zusammenarbeit konkret verbessern
Gemeinsam erkunden wir:- Wo liegen echte Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen Teams?
- Welche gemeinsamen Scrum-Events (Refinement, Sprint Planning, Review, Gesamtretro) sinnvoll sind
- und wie sie helfen, Silos aufzulösen und Lernen zu beschleunigen.
### ♾️ Keine Transformation, sondern ein Weg
Zum Abschluss ordnen wir das Ganze ein als das, was es wirklich ist:
eine endlose Reise aus Kaizen (kontinuierliche Verbesserung) und Kaikaku (gezielte, strukturelle Veränderungen).
Natürlich bleibt ausreichend Raum für Diskussion, Fragen und Erfahrungsaustausch.
