Bird Watching in Manzanares El Real

Our next Bird Watching trip will be to explore the Embalse de Santillana near Manzanares El Real. This is one of the best spots to see birds in Madrid and we should be able to observe a great collection of waterbirds and raptors. Lots of White Storks nest in Manzanares and we should have spectacular views!

We will aim to meet at 9am on Calle de La Paz, in front of the Cemetery. If you are coming on Public Transport, you can take the 724 bus from Plaza Castilla, arriving in Manzanares at 8:45. Alternatively, we might be able to share lifts (for example I have some spaces going from Alameda de Osuna).

The walk will be fairly easy, but bring sturdy trainers, binoculars and warm clothes. I will take the telescope and we should be able to get some nice views of the different bird species.
