Sobre nosotros

This group is a place to meet others interested in rationality and cognitive bias. Come learn with us... and socialize, too!

Since Kahneman and Tversky pioneered the science of human decision-making in the 1970's, researchers have developed a good understanding of how humans reason relative to the ideal. However, much of this research on cognitive bias has yet to trickle down into popular culture. The goal of Rational Future meetups is to promote the public understanding of rationality and human cognitive bias.

This meetup group is for anyone who wants to gain better insight into their own reasoning and the reasoning of others. It's also for people who want to devise systems that help us think better.

Teachers! How best to teach about cognitive bias and rationality?

Managers! Should rational thinking and cognitive bias be part of every management degree syllabus?

No special expertise is required, and most of our discussions will be entry-level. We'll focus on accessible, science-based explanations of rationality and bias (cognitive dissonance theory, bounded rationality, introspection illusion, attribute substitution, etc.).
