SAT OCT 18 - MUSHROOM HUNTING WITH WINE & BITE - GUIDED BY EXPERT MYCOLOGIST

Detalles

We'll be going off the beaten path and into the bushes! This is a quest for mushrooms around the beautiful forests right in the heart of the Guadarrama National Park. We'll leave the beaten path and walk below pine trees, oaks and birches to discover and put in our baskets all sorts of edible (and not) species that Sebastián, our expert mycologist, will sort through and filter so we only bring home the good ones with a snack and a wine halfway throuhg the day (on us!) At the end, as always, we'll leave time to stop and have a drink before heading back.

THE MUSHROOM GUIDE, SEBASTIAN

Sebastian is Spanish/Canadian and a third Belgian. An expert mycologist, a wild mushroom guru and pleasure to be with person who will take us walking and mushroom hunting along the way and who will check one by one our baskets after lunch to tell us what we should and should not eat!

THE MUSHROOM HUNT

We'll spend the morning picking up our own mushrooms while learning about these strange and fascinating living beings. Sebastian will tell us everything about them and sort them out for us, while we all enjoy lunch and a chat (lunch is not included but wine and a midday snack is on us!).

WHAT TO BRING - IMPORTANT!!

  • A wicker or mesh basket to put your mushrooms in. You can get a cheap one in any of those street convenience stores (usually refered to as 'chinos') PLEASE NO PLASTIC BAGS, they're not allowed because they prevent spores from disseminating and thus mushrooms to reproduce.
  • Your lunch (we will bring wine and a midday snack too)
  • A well sharpened small pocket knife (again, any of those stores)
  • Confy warm clothes with an extra layer in the backpack in case it gets colder.
  • A wind/waterproof jacket or coat (depending on that day's weather)
  • Hat, gloves, scarf if it's gonna be very cold, otherwise sunscreen!
  • Any walking/running shoes will do
  • 1,5 L bottle of wáter per person MINIMUM (there are no fountains in the forest!)
