Open Heart Meditation is a relaxing, joyful and "non-serious" guided meditation to help the heart open and feel more peace, sweetness and joy. Due to Coronavirus concerns and for the wellbeing of all our participants, temporarily, sessions are not available at the Hove Community Centre. However, good news! Meditation sessions are available online via Zoom video conferencing. We have made it super easy to join right from your browser. Simply select a name and join the meditation session. Now you can enjoy a group meditation from the comfort of your own home. How good is that! Sessions are available at the usual time, every Tuesday at 7pm (ACST). The program is quite simple: 1. It should be an enjoyable experience with no pressure to perform; I can relate to performance anxiety because I have a terminal case of it. We can show each other what we are working on and talk about our process; or we can just quietly work and feel the presence of each other in our individual acts of creation. The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
