The Dissident Salon is a weekly poetry and performance series created as an extension of the DISSIDENT Club’s mission to provide a home for dissenting voices, hosted by Alissa Leeds. Rooted in the tradition of the literary salon, it treats writing and performance as public acts that question power and challenge the systems that shape our lives. Each week features a curated performer, followed by open mic sessions open to all. Work may be presented in English, French, or other languages. Multilingual expression is central to the space and reflects the realities of exile, displacement, and exchange that define the DISSIDENT Club. The Salon is an ongoing forum for people who speak publicly and think critically through art. La muraqaba est une méditation soufie silencieuse qui aide à purifier le cœur, à apaiser l’ego et à développer une perception plus subtile de la Réalité. C’est une pratique douce et accessible à tous, sans besoin d’expérience préalable. **COMMENT PRATIQUER** La méthode est simple : • S’asseoir confortablement, • Fermer les yeux, • Formuler intérieurement l’intention de la muraqaba, tout en tournant son attention vers son cœur, • Rester ainsi en silence pendant 40 minutes, en restant tourné vers son intériorité. **COMMENT COMMENCER** Nous dispensons des séances d'introduction à notre méthode de méditation en présentiel et sur zoom. The Alliance is part of the Greater Central Ohio Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. We are an all-voices chorus dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for all those who love to sing, regardless of their race, gender identity, sexual orientation or musical background. This month we will be discussing **Frank Santoro**, an American cartoonist, painter, and comics critic known for his expressive lines, experimental page layouts, and vibrant use of color. His graphic novels—including *Storeyville*, *Pompeii*, and *Pittsburgh*—blend personal storytelling with innovative visual structure, often exploring memory, place, and relationships. In addition to his comics, Santoro has been an influential voice in comics education and criticism, co-founding the magazine *ComicsComics* and creating the **Santoro Correspondence Course for Comic Book Makers**, which has helped train and inspire a new generation of cartoonists. Afterwards, we will have time to work on our individual art projects, hang out, and if anyone is interested in feedback on their work, there will be time for that as well.
