A 2.5 hours oil color - acrylics painting lesson.
**About this course**
This is a painting workshop with the goal of teaching people how to create paintings using either oil colors or acrylics. The total subject lessons consists of around **27 lessons** that last 2.5 hours each. You can join at any time during the course.
On each lesson the first part will be about theory and exercise and the second one about canvas time. Each participant will have the chance to work on canvas and start making paintings as artworks. All materials are provided by us.
Each lesson has a subject. We do not follow a particular order, and every lesson is actually unique and many times personalized. This means that every time the attendess will have to do something new and different.
You do not have to paint on canvas and with the mentioned art materias, you can also choose to use any of your wish. Most of the observations and exercises work well with all art materials.
It is suitable for beginners and or even professionals who want to rationalize the canvas painting process. It is being hosted by the visual artist [Miltos Despoudis](https://miltosdespoudis.gr/).

Watercolors materials will be provided at the venue. You can also bring your own art supplies, it might be helpful to learn working with what you have. Keep in mind that working with colors might make your clothes dirty, but in general we try to be clean.

Free Workshop Hacking Business Models in the Cultural Sector
Let’s be honest: the traditional cultural sector often forces us to choose between our creative integrity and our financial survival. The myth of the "starving artist" or the "solitary genius" is a trap that keeps cultural workers in a constant state of precarity.
But what if we could design our projects differently? What if we could build cultural businesses based on solidarity, cooperation, and radical sustainability?
Join us on May 27th for an interactive, hands-on workshop co-hosted by ODBK and Travelling U. We will explore how to dismantle extractivist practices and design alternative business models that actually serve the creators.
**What you will learn in this session:**
* Beyond the Canvas: How to view system design and business models as part of your artistic medium.
* Alternative Frameworks: An introduction to cooperative structures and the solidarity economy.
* Redefining Value: How to measure the success of your cultural project using metrics of care, rather than just capitalist extraction.
* Real-World Pathways: Tangible examples of cultural workers who have successfully subverted the system to gain economic sovereignty.
**Who is this for?**
Artists, cultural managers, creative freelancers, and social entrepreneurs in Berlin who are tired of the traditional hustle culture and want to explore sustainable, collective ways to structure their work.
**About the Facilitator:**
Oihane Amurrio is an artist, educator, and cultural entrepreneur based in Berlin. She specialises in designing alternative pedagogical models in the cultural sector and is the lead designer of the *Cooperative Cultural Entrepreneurship (CCE)* program at Travelling U.

Secret Gardens: Botanical Watercolour in the Open Air
Join us for a two-day Botanical Watercolour experience, where we’ll step out of the studio and into two *almost hidden* gardens in Friedrichshain to paint plants directly from life 🌿
Over two days, we’ll meet in two different, *almost hidden* gardens in Friedrichshain—quiet green corners of the city where we can slow down, observe, and paint plants directly from life. Think wild flowers, textured leaves, unexpected shapes, shifting light… and the simple joy of painting outdoors.
This is more than just a meet-up: **it’s a guided class designed to help you grow your skills while you enjoy the process.** We’ll start each session exploring essential watercolour techniques—wet-on-wet, layering, colour mixing, and transparency—and then apply them to what we see around us. You’ll learn how to approach different types of plants, how to simplify complex forms, and which techniques and effects work best for each subject.
No experience needed—just curiosity, and a love for plants, light, and slow summer days 🌱
The workshop includes **two classes**, but you’re also welcome to join individual sessions.
**When:**
Wednesday 20 + 27 May
From 6 to 7.30 PM

Soundground: free improvised music workshop
**A place to meet sound, without maps**
Facilitated by **Vesti Gium (they/them)**
Everyone enters as they are.
No score. No threshold of skill.
We follow the room, moment by moment—
listening, nudging, letting the music find itself.
A breath, a shoelace, a laugh, a footstep—
each carries weight.
Silence is welcomed; noise is celebrated.
There are no wrong directions here.
We practise a listening that reaches outward and inward:
to ourselves, to one another, to the space we shape together.
That is where the music begins.
* 🌀 Bring a voice, an object, an instrument, a movement—or nothing at all.
* ✨ **Priority given to FLINTA folks and people with migration backgrounds.**

**A two-session sustainable experience inspired by folk characters and traditional mask-making. You will design and create your own character mask in a hands-on and creative way.**
**Guardians are masks with presence—imagined characters that accompany and bring personality to a space**. You can create a small or large mask, designed either to wear or to hang.
**Day 1:** Inspiration & Mask Building
*"In Japan, masks often embody transformation, character, and symbolic presence.*
*In the Andes, masks connect animals, imagination, and collective storytelling (...)"*
We begin with a visual introduction to mask-making across cultures, exploring how artists draw inspiration from celebrations, nature, animals, and imaginary characters to create expressive forms.
You’ll bring your own idea (or choose from a selection of references) to design your Guardian character. You can choose between different formats — wearable masks or small sculptural faces for the wall — working with accessible materials such as recycled cardboard, papier-mâché, fabric, and mixed textures.
**Day 2:** Painting & Finishing
In the second session, we bring the characters to life through colour, texture, materials and detail. You will choose a colour palette and combine acrylic paints with acrylic markers to create different finishing effects. The workshop closes with a relaxed sharing moment, where participants can present their character and creative process.
**All basic materials are included:** *cardboard, paper, paste, papier-mâché, acrylic paints, fabrics, threads, and decorative textures.* You are welcome to bring \*personal materials \* if you wish — colours, fabrics, small objects, or symbolic elements you would like to incorporate into your piece.
* Where: At my studio in **10963 Kreuzberg, Berlin**. It’s a bright, sunny space ☀️ I’ll send you the exact address by email after you fill out the form.
It will be fun!

Exhibition "Spellbound" by Bianca Dakli
Bianca Dakli’s paintings depict nocturnal scenes of inner landscapes. She draws her inspiration primarily from the sky, the moon, the sea, and its unpredictability. She seeks openness, freedom, and new possibilities. Her works invite viewers to encounter an often challenging external world with curiosity and openness, rather than with fear.
Having spent her entire life in chaotic metropolises, she views painting as a gateway to a world entirely distinct from the material and hectic struggles of daily life. Through her paintings, Dakli aims to open up spaces of freedom that foster tranquility and offer time for reflection.
Dakli has lived in Berlin since 2013 and works as a freelance artist in the fields of dance and performance. For several years now, she has focused primarily on acrylic painting and has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions.
