Barbershop Quartet

This is not a typical ceramics class. This is a small, intimate space designed to help you slow down, disconnect from daily noise and reconnect with yourself through a simple, hands-on experience. In a city that moves fast, this group offers a different kind of plan: creating with your hands, sharing a glass of wine, and enjoying a calm, screen-free moment. All workshops are held in very small groups (max. 4 people) to keep the atmosphere personal and relaxed. No previous experience is needed. What to expect: • A guided ceramics experience focused on the process, not perfection • A cozy and calm environment • Wine or non-alcoholic drinks • Time to disconnect, without pressure or distractions You will also be able to keep your piece after it’s fired, as a reminder of the experience. The Alliance is part of the Greater Central Ohio Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. We are an all-voices chorus dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for all those who love to sing, regardless of their race, gender identity, sexual orientation or musical background. The Alliance is the first and only all-voices barbershop chorus in Central Ohio. **Who:** Anyone with a passion for singing at a high level. Bienvenue! Columbus French Conversation group invites you to our Saturday morning French conversation club. Expect a casual and welcoming atmosphere in which to learn french! I will bring my laptop so we can look up new vocabulary as needed! The venue is a beautiful French restaurant so you can really get into the zone :)

Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
