**FAQ**
Not sure you'll keep up? GoodGym is for everyone (18+). Whether you've never run before, or are chasing a marathon PB, you are 100% welcome. We always have a back-marker so no one gets left behind.
70% of GoodGym members start as non-runners so if you're new to this kind of thing you will be supported by people who are all on the same journey. 👍
What do I need to wear? Most of us wear gym/running gear. Make sure you're prepared for the weather.
Don't feel like you're fit enough? Our tasks are simple and fun. There are easy jobs as well as more challenging things for those who want a workout! The choice is always yours.
Do I need to bring anything? Gardening gloves are really useful for a lot of GoodGym tasks. And a head torch too if it’s likely to get dark. Please bring some if you can but there’s no requirement 🧤💡🧤
What is GoodGym? We're a (really lovely) group of people who use our energy to make a difference in our local community (and in communities across the UK!). We often meet on a weeknight, at least once a week, for a session to do good and get fit. We'd love you to come and join us. Any questions, just pop a comment below or send me a message. BARRE Fitness
To book: www.barefootyogaandtherapy.com
Barre is a toning, body-weight-lifting workout,” Kim says. It engages muscles you wouldn't normally target—ones deep inside your body that squats, lunges and sit-ups don't reach. With high-reps and low-impact movements, barre challenges anyone looking to fine-tune their muscles—no ballet experience required.

The Inner Critic Reset — Meditation & Self-Compassion Circle, London
You're exhausted. And somehow, you still feel like you're not doing enough.
That's not a productivity problem. That's your inner critic, and it's running the show.
Most of us have a voice in our heads that keeps score. That reminds us of every mistake, every missed opportunity, every way we've fallen short. In a city like LONDON, where everyone looks like they're thriving, that voice can get very loud, very fast.
This group is for people who are done letting it win.
Over two hours, we slow down (genuinely slow down) and do something most of us rarely make time for, learn to be a little kinder to ourselves.
**What we do together:**
Each session combines guided meditation, practical self-compassion exercises, and space for genuine human connection. You'll leave with tools you can use in your daily life, and perhaps a few new faces you're glad you met.
**In this group you can expect to:**
Explore how your inner critic works — and how to respond to it differently
* Experience guided meditations designed to calm the mind and build self-compassion
Learn practical, evidence-based exercises grounded in mindfulness and compassion-focused approaches
* Meet like-minded people in a warm, non-judgemental space
**Who is this for?**
Everyone is welcome, whether you've never meditated before or you've been practising for years. This group is especially for you if you recognise yourself in any of these:
\*You tend to be your own harshest critic
* You feel exhausted, stretched thin, or close to burnout
\*You find it easier to be kind to others than to yourself
* You want to meet genuine people in a meaningful setting — not another networking event
Just click on attend and you'll get all details of the event on your email.
See you there!

Brain Worms 116 / The Aleph and Other Stories by Jorge Luis Borges
Written in a deceptively simple, almost laconic style Borges takes us inside the minds of an unrepentant Nazi, an imprisoned Mayan priest, fanatical Christian theologians, a woman plotting vengeance on her father’s “killer,” and a man awaiting his assassin in a Buenos Aires guest house. In maddeningly ingenious stories that play with the very form of the short story, Borges returns again and again to his themes: dreams, labyrinths, mirrors, infinite libraries, the manipulations of chance, gaucho knife-fighters, transparent tigers and the elusive nature of identity itself.
We will be reading the Penguin edition of The Aleph and Other Stories which contains the following stories:
"The Immortal" ("El inmortal")
"The Dead Man" ("El Muerto")
"The Theologians" ("Los teólogos")
"Story of the Warrior and the Captive" ("Historia del guerrero y la cautiva")
"Biography of Tadeo Isidoro Cruz" ("Biografía de Tadeo Isidoro Cruz (1829–1874)")
"Emma Zunz"
"The House of Asterion" ("La casa de Asterión")
"The Other Death" ("La otra muerte")
"Deutsches Requiem" ("Deutsches réquiem")
"Averroes's Search" ("La busca de Averroes")
"The Zahir" ("El zahir")
"The Writing of the God" ("La escritura del dios")
"Ibn-Hakam al-Bokhari, Murdered in His Labyrinth" ("Abenjacán el Bojarí, muerto en su laberinto")
"The Two Kings and the Two Labyrinths" ("Una leyenda arábiga" ("Historia de los dos reyes y los dos laberintos, como nota de Burton") ) "The Wait" ("La espera")
"The Man on the Threshold" ("El hombre en el umbral")
"The Aleph" ("El Aleph")
Available from all good libraries and book shops.
You don't have to have read it to join us - but it'll probably help.
We will be meeting in The Ludski Bar in the Rio Cinema.
You are welcome to bring outside food in with you but please buy your drinks from inside the cinema. Thank you.
We hope to see you there.

Men's Circle ~ London ~ Closed Group ~ 2nd Tuesday ~ 10:30 to 1 ~ Bar
Regular Men's Circles, normally the 2nd Tuesday of the month.
This is a **closed group**, which currently may be full, with a small wait list, which you are warmly welcome to join.
I am starting an evening Circle, same day (2nd Tues), as many men are unable to join in the day (though we have template message to ask work for time off for CPD / Development).
Closed group has the same men each time, which means the men in the group will get to know each other and feel safer to open/go deeper.
After a complementary 'Taster Circle', if you want to become a regular, you'll be asked to commit to the rest of the 6 month 'term' (start Jan and July).
There are a number of men in the group who are not on Meetup, so the numbers of attendees on Meetup are not 'real'/accurate.
FIRST you need to confirm you agree with the ground rules = **[https://go.Man.Academy/rules](https://go.man.academy/rules)**
Bring an open mind and your real self.
NB: More details, eg. what is a Men's Circle, what are the benefits...

* on the website - [Man.Academy/mens-circles](https://www.Man.Academy/mens-circles)
Before attending / if curious, you have the option of a call with Merlin, to get to know each other a bit, see if its a good fit, ask any questions you may have. Please book a call with me here - [https://www.Man.Academy/call](https://contacts.google.com/undefined)
If the group is full, you can go on the wait list, as men do move/move on. Best to give me your phone / email as I find messages do not get through on Meetup so well.
