The Church of Maria Addolorata, known as “del Soldo”, stands in a stunning position just outside the village of Palanzo. It is considered a true panoramic balcony overlooking Lake Como. **PROGRAM** 11:00 AM – Meeting point at Pratone Food Truck, Piazza Cesare Scotti 5, 22020 Faggeto Lario (CO) 11:15 AM – Start of the route 12:45 PM (approx.) – Arrival, free time, and lunch (packed lunch or meals available at local facilities) 2:30/3:00 PM (approx.) – Return Difficulty: Medium – About 1h 30 min and roughly 3.5 km each way, with 420 meters of elevation gain. Main St. | Newark, Ohio Julie Zickefoose: Author, Painter, and Bluebird Extraordinaire Zickefoose is an American nature book writer, naturalist, bird artist, and blogger. She lives in Ohio on an 80-acre wildlife sanctuary, which she said inspires much of her work, including her 2012 novel, The Bluebird Effect: Uncommon Bonds with Common Bird, and NATURAL GARDENING FOR BIRDS The novel is illustrated with 320 of Zickefoose’s colored paintings, life sketches, and drawings, and it was one of Oprah’s 2012 book club reads.

We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area.
