Get ready creative writers! Inkwell is proud to announce Reading Club, our latest event for the Shanghai writing community. Reading Club is a low stress literature gathering that meets every other Monday evening. We read through through a short short or essay at the meeting and then discuss it. Add Ryan (WechatID: texaswriter) to join our wechat and find out what text is being discussed next. I don't keep Meetup very up to date and everything Inkwell does is organized through its wechat groups, so even if the number of attendees on meetup is low, there's likely an event still going on. We normally meet a few times a month during the week from 6-8pm. We will occasionally meet on weekends during daytime hours.

**Our April novel is: *The Hong Kong Widow* by Kristen Loesch** **This month’s novel blends gothic atmosphere with historical fiction and chilling horror, set against the haunting backdrop of China. The book is 368 pages in print and 10 hours and 42 minutes on audiobook.** In 1950s Hong Kong, Mei is a young refugee of the Chinese Communist revolution struggling to put her past in Shanghai behind her. Also, as we meet at the same time and place each week, many don’t RSVP on the app, so we will likely have more attendees than noted here.
