"On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous" by Ocean Vuong
*On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous* is a letter from a son to a mother who cannot read. Written when the speaker, Little Dog, is in his late twenties, the letter unearths a family's history that began before he was born — a history whose epicenter is rooted in Vietnam — and serves as a doorway into parts of his life his mother has never known, all of it leading to an unforgettable revelation. At once a witness to the fraught yet undeniable love between a single mother and her son, it is also a brutally honest exploration of race, class, and masculinity. Asking questions central to our American moment, immersed as we are in addiction, violence, and trauma, but undergirded by compassion and tenderness, *On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous* is as much about the power of telling one's own story as it is about the obliterating silence of not being heard.
With stunning urgency and grace, Ocean Vuong writes of people caught between disparate worlds, and asks how we heal and rescue one another without forsaking who we are. The question of how to survive, and how to make of it a kind of joy, powers the most important debut novel of many years.

* **Build** a technical foundation for comprehension

**💬 Technical SEO Audits & Monitoring in the Age of AI**
**🎤 Speaker - Rana Quba Chamsi, PhD**
AI is becoming part of the SEO toolkit, but when it comes to Technical SEO, most people are asking the wrong question.
The problem isn’t what AI can do, it’s what AI thinks it can do.
Large language models often give confident but incorrect answers about how websites are structured, rendered, or parsed. Ask them how they extract content from a page, and you’ll get a plausible explanation, not necessarily a correct one. They may claim to interpret JavaScript, structured data, or DOM elements reliably, while in reality their access is limited, inconsistent, or dependent on simplified retrieval methods.
This creates a dangerous gap between perceived and actual capabilities, especially for audits and monitoring.
In this talk, we’ll break down:
* where AI genuinely adds value in Technical SEO workflows
* where it fails (and why) from hallucinations to outdated assumptions
* how to validate AI outputs using real-world tooling and data sources
* and how to design a hybrid approach combining AI, MCPs, and browser automation tools like Playwright
The future of Technical SEO isn’t AI vs humans, it’s knowing exactly when not to trust AI.

Trustworthy AI Circle. Trust or verify? How to navigate confidence in LLM output
Please register at **https://luma.com/qh0g4i81** to receive the details about event location.
# LLM tools have become the default solution for everyday translation tasks — fast, convenient, and often surprisingly good. But when accuracy really matters — legal documents, brand messaging, or customer communication — most professionals still hesitate to fully trust the output.
This Trustworthy AI Circle round looks at a practical question: How can we make AI translation reliable enough for real business use – without introducing lengthy and expensive human-in-the-loop setups traditional agencies use?
Together with experts from **Supertext** we will look at a practical near-instant verification flow. We will approach the solution from two perspectives: business value from a marketing leadership viewpoint and practical implementation from an operational one. The discussion will explore where these perspectives align - and where they collide - in building trustworthy solutions that continuously improve the underlying AI model.

Not a usual book club in Zürich
Do you remember that feeling —
when meeting people felt effortless?
When conversations went deeper than small talk,
and you actually wanted to stay a little longer?
We’re creating that space again.
This is a book club —
but not the kind you’re used to.
No long monologues.
No pressure to sound smart.
No awkward silence.
Just people, ideas, and real conversations.
⸻
📖 This edition’s book: Misery by Stephen King
A modern bestseller exploring connection, timing, emotional intimacy, and the complexity of relationships.
⸻
Important
We are not a traditional book club — so don’t worry if you haven’t read the book.
We begin with a short and engaging presentation:
you’ll get a clear overview of the story, characters, and key themes.
After that, each guest receives:
• a set of thoughtful, slightly provocative questions
• a number for group rotation
💬 You’ll join a small group and spend ~20 minutes discussing deeper topics inspired by the book — not just what happened, but what it means.
Then we switch groups.
New people. New dynamics. New perspectives.
⸻
✨ And then — the structure fades away.
The rest of the evening is yours:
• relaxed conversations
• drinks
• natural connections
⸻
This is not about literature.
And not about dating either.
It’s about how stories bring people together.
⸻
If you’re curious, open-minded, and enjoy meaningful conversations —
you’ll feel at home here.
Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel García Márquez
Welcome to the first meeting of the 20th Century World Literature Book Club Zurich!
For our first book, we’ll be reading *Chronicle of a Death Foretold*, a short, gripping, and beautifully written novel by Colombian author and Nobel Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez. First published in 1981, it tells the story of a killing that everyone knows is coming, yet somehow no one stops.
We’ll meet in English for a friendly, open discussion. No academic background is needed — just read the book, bring your thoughts, and join the conversation.
This first book has been chosen by the organizer to get the club started. After our book club is actively underway, future reads will be selected through member nominations and voting.
Looking forward to meeting fellow readers and kicking things off together in April!

Portfolio Career as founder
More and more founders are turning to models such as fractional founder or fractional co-founder. Instead of relying early on venture capital, these approaches enable flexible, lower-risk market validation with a clear strategic focus. At the same time, these careers increasingly transform into portfolio careers - bringing new freedoms, but also new demands: prioritization, clear structure, and intentional energy management become central. A solid content and strategic foundation is key and portfolio Careers are also a journey to knowing yourself with your individual strengths, needs and purpose.
Andreia Fernandes has been working with portfolio careers for over a decade and has strategically supported numerous female founders through complex career and entrepreneurial phases. She founded her first start-up as an Impact Hub member and today runs the Portfolio Career Institute as part of her own portfolio career. In her contribution, she presents concrete possibilities and alternatives and shows how modern career and entrepreneurial models can be rethought.

Zertifizierter VSM Coach – Seminar am 22., 24. und 30. April 2026

April Book Club Meetup
Welcome, readers!
Our April read is **_Martyr!_ by Kaveh Akbar.**
The story follows a young Iranian American poet grappling with grief, addiction, and the aching question of what makes a life meaningful. Drawn into an unexpected friendship with a terminally ill artist, he begins to confront faith, love, and the seduction of self-destruction. Lyrical, darkly funny, and emotionally piercing, the novel wrestles with beauty and despair in equal measure. It’s a story about longing—to be seen, to be forgiven, and to matter.
Looking forward to discussing with everyone!
We will meet at Zaftig Brewing Co in their event room in the back. We are welcome to bring in our own food, but **drinks must be purchased at the bar.**
